Thematic Areas

Six thematic areas for research, experiences, innovations and reflections connected to real educational contexts.

Authors must select one primary thematic area. If a proposal relates to more than one area, the Scientific Committee may reassign it according to relevance, thematic coherence and program organization.

1. Curriculum and Assessment for Learning

This area brings together research, experiences and innovations related to curriculum design, implementation, management and evaluation in diverse educational contexts. It particularly welcomes proposals aimed at strengthening teaching and learning processes, formative and authentic assessment, feedback and the use of evidence for pedagogical decision-making.

This area addresses research, experiences and reflections aimed at ensuring access, participation, learning and recognition of diversity across educational levels and contexts. It includes perspectives related to special educational needs, disability, neurodiversity, interculturality, sexual and gender diversity, high abilities, accessibility and other dimensions linked to equity and educational justice.

3. School Climate, Well-being, and Socioemotional Development

This area includes work focused on educational coexistence, well-being and socio-emotional processes that shape the life of educational communities. It includes studies and interventions on school climate, mental health, interpersonal relationships, violence prevention, conflict management, socio-emotional learning, emotional regulation and care and support strategies.

This area brings together work related to the management, organization and improvement of educational institutions. It includes research, experiences and proposals on school and institutional management, team development and support, professional learning communities, education policy, change management and school-family-community engagement.

5. Technology and Innovation in Education

This area addresses the critical, creative and appropriate use of technologies and innovative strategies to enrich educational processes. It includes research and experiences on educational technology, artificial intelligence, digital citizenship and literacy, resource design, active methodologies, curricular, pedagogical and assessment innovation, as well as educational transformation processes that do not necessarily require technological mediation.

This area brings together research, experiences and reflections that analyse educational processes from perspectives of gender, sexuality, rights and inclusion. It includes work on comprehensive sexuality education, gender and curriculum, prevention of violence and discrimination, stereotypes and bias, sex-gender diversity and related education policies.
